Erbium Laser and CO2 Laser

About the skin treatments

Our state-of-the-art skin resurfacing services include two exceptional laser treatments: Erbium and CO2 lasers.

Both of these innovative processes are designed to rejuvenate your skin, making it healthier, smoother, and more youthful.

Erbium Laser

Erbium lasers work by emitting high-energy light that is absorbed by water in the skin, instantly vaporising damaged cells and triggering the skin’s natural healing process to produce new, healthier cells and collagen.

This controlled “ablation” or removal of the outer skin layer results in a smoother, firmer complexion by reducing wrinkles, scars, and sun damage.

CO2 Laser

CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is a more intensive treatment that targets deeper skin flaws. It’s excellent for treating deeper facial lines, wrinkles, scarring, skin texture irregularities, and sun damage.

The CO2 is a highly effective option for improving the appearance of scar tissue. It works by targeting tiny, controlled areas of skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing process and promoting the production of fresh collagen.

This encourages smoother, healthier skin over time, reducing the visibility of scars without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Suitable for various types of scars, including those from acne, surgery, or injury with minimal downtime.

SkinCeuticals Chemical Peels

Chemical peels work by exfoliating the outer layers of the skin, improving texture, radiance, and overall skin health.

They are effective for addressing a wide range of concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation. By accelerating skin cell turnover, chemical peels reveal smoother, healthier skin, with results becoming more apparent over time.

The treatment is available in varying strengths and formulations, making it highly adaptable to different skin types and concerns.

During a chemical peel, a solution containing exfoliating acids is applied to the skin. These acids dissolve the bonds between skin cells, encouraging the shedding of the outermost layers and revealing fresher, healthier skin beneath. The depth of penetration depends on the type of peel used—superficial peels work on the top layers, while medium and deep peels target more advanced skin issues.

Frequently asked questions

Fractional laser technology uses focused laser energy to treat small, targeted sections of the skin. By creating micro-columns of thermal energy within the skin, it triggers a healing response, which boosts collagen production and encourages skin renewal. This process helps with skin resurfacing, reducing signs of ageing, and removing pigmentation or tattoos.

Fractional lasers can effectively address a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. They are also effective for tattoo removal by breaking down ink particles in the skin.

The number of sessions depends on the treatment area and the specific skin concern. For general skin rejuvenation, 3–5 sessions spaced several weeks apart may be recommended.

The Fractional Laser treatment feelings like a tingling sensation with only mild is comfort.

In preparation, avoid sun exposure, tanning, and harsh skincare products like retinoids or exfoliants for at least a week before your session. It’s also best to avoid alcohol and smoking, as these can affect the healing process.

Your Fractional Laser should initially be treated like a wound. Wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap and dry. Lightly apply the recommended cleansing cream with a dabbing motion; leave on for 1-2 minutes.

Mix 2 caps of white wine vinegar with 2 litres of water, and use this solution to rinse off the cream. Apply a thin coat of Vaseline to keep the area moist.

Repeat the procedure every 2-3 hours or less, depending on how often crusts reform.

1-2 Days Post Treatment

Treated skin will be red, swollen, and weeping; small dots may turn brown, which is normal. Shower carefully, avoiding direct water contact. Expect yellow liquid oozing; do not pick at crusts. Follow aftercare every 2-3 hours on day one, and 4 times on day two. Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating.

3-4 Days Post Treatment

The skin will start to appear less swollen, but redness will persist. Crusts may begin to fall off; do not pick at them. Continue following the aftercare procedure diligently. Itchiness may occur and can be relieved with over-the-counter antihistamines.

8 Days Post Treatment

Your skin may appear pink, resembling mild sunburn. Expect crusting and oozing to begin to subside. Continue the aftercare procedure only if crusts are still forming. Avoid applying makeup; if necessary to conceal redness, do so with caution and in a sanitary manner.
